GOTHENBURG, Sweden — This summer Volvo Penta will take one of its test boats around five countries in the Baltic to tout the benefits of its IPS high-performance pod system with forward facing propellers, according to a release from the company.
The trip will be documented on the company’s Baltic Trip Blog.
The PTA80 vessel chosen for the trip is one of Volvo Penta’s regular test boats, used at the Volvo Penta marine test center outside Gothenburg. The PTA80 is 22 meters long and powered by twin IPS1050 at 800 hp each.
Stopovers will include Stockholm, St Petersburg, Helsinki and more.
