Marina Retrofit Conference exhibits sell out

WARREN, R.I. — The Marina Retrofit, Redesign and Construction Conference has sold out its exhibit space and attendee numbers have doubled in the past few weeks, organizers reported in a recent statement.

The two-day conference, owned and operated by the International Marina Institute (IMI), a subsidiary of the Association of Marina Industries (AMI), will be held at the Doubletree Hotel in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Oct. 21-23.

Conference exhibitors include Premier Materials, Hoist Liftruck, EMP Industries, Dockmaster, Eaton Corporation—Marina Power and Lighting, Coastal Systems International, Edson Pump Division, KMI Sea-Lift, Sea Technology Ltd., Structurmarine, and Textron Financial.

Participants at the conference will be attending seminars that apply specifically to the marina retrofit industry with topics ranging from environmental permitting to clean marinas, marina financing to market trends, and from fueling systems to technical engineering, reported organizers. The event closes with a panel of speakers answering attendees’ questions, similar to last year’s IMI Drystack Conference.

Immediately following the conference, IMI is also offering the Southeast Florida Marina and Boatyard Study Tour—hosted by Tim Timpson, CMM. The tour will visit several marinas, such as Hinckley Yacht Services, Jonathan’s Landing, Old Port Cove, Sailfish Marina Resort, New Port Cove, Rybovich, and the new Port Condominium and Marina in Fort Lauderdale.

Spaces are limited and the room-block rate at the Doubletree Hotel in Palm Beach Gardens will be available only until Oct. 12, organizers added.

Those interested in more information, attending the conference and/or joining the study tour should contact IMI immediately at 401–247–0314 or imitraining@marinaassociation.org.
