Sometimes it’s the little things a business does that make it stand out. Such is the case with George’s Marine & Sports (Ranked 39 in 2005). Its personalized parking spot next to the front door for new boat buyers on delivery day may not make the company any money upfront. But it sends a message that customers are unlikely to forget. As President Jeff Wilcox puts it, “It makes the customer feel that much more important and special on that particular day. It shows we’re not just selling another boat.”
