Alumacraft expects further growth
ST. PETER, Minn. – Despite a soft small boat market, boat builder Alumacraft Boat Co. has been growing.
And the 16,000-square-foot addition underway at its Arkadelphia facility is expected to allow the aluminum boat manufacturer to grow some more, according to a recent article in The Daily Siftings Herald.
Not only does the company plan to hire an additional 12 to 15 workers once the addition is complete this spring, Alumacraft anticipates production will increase as well, the newspaper suggested.
“We’ve already increased our production by 50 percent over the last few years,” plant manager Paul McDade told the newspaper. “The expansion will mean we’ve doubled our production over the last three years.”
Alumacraft produced 11,000 boats last year, the newspaper reported, and currently employs 74 people.
