Sea Ray Palm Coast plant employees achieve safety milestone

KNOXVILLE – Sea Ray Boats employees at the Palm Coast, Fla., facility have reached one million work hours without a lost-time incident, the manufacturer said in a statement yesterday.

To recognize the accomplishment, Dustan McCoy, chairman and chief executive officer of Sea Ray’s parent company, Brunswick Corporation, presented the facility with the Chairman’s Gold Safety Award June 12.

“Safety is no stranger to Sea Ray’s plants, it is a way of life and working,” said Richard Stone, Sea Ray president. “We will continue to aim for record-setting milestones.”

“I am very proud of Sea Ray employees for contributing to our commitment to safety,” McCoy said. “I am even prouder of their generosity and their commitment to their community. They understand what it means to be a good and generous neighbor.”

In conjunction with this award, Brunswick Corporation has committed to a $10,000 donation on Sea Ray employees’ behalf to The Family Life Center of Flagler County.

Sea Ray Boats has 570 employees at the Palm Coast facility, which manufactures sport yachts and yachts from 40 feet to 52 feet. In addition to this milestone, Sea Ray as a whole has seen significant reductions in numbers of injuries and first-aid cases since 2004.
