Sarasota marina looks to host industry events

SARASOTA, Fla. – Sarasota’s Marina Jack has expanded its facilities and is now looking for opportunities to host boat, engine and accessory manufacturers for product introductions and dealer meetings.

Marina manager Captain Sam Chavers said the newly defined waterfront gives Marina Jack 316 slips with capability for vessels up to 175 feet and includes restaurant docking, outside waterfront dining decks and a party platform overlooking the marina.

A fuel center and pump-out station have also been added at the marina, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Marina Jack will also soon be the managing force behind the Sarasota’s public mooring fields, the company reported.

“All of this gives us an unrivaled opportunity not only to attract transient boaters, but to make ourselves into a destination,” Chavers said. “We are already blessed with a highly-rated restaurant tied together with a really fine banquet facility. Now with the new docks, the new on-site waterfront areas and the availability of our O’Leary’s Water Sports Grill, we can invite boat and engine builders to do dealer meetings and special events right here.”

Chavers said he’s looking for boat companies and boat dealers to bring groups of owners to the facility as the West Coast of Florida becomes one of the finest cruising and rendezvous areas in the nation.
