Bennington Marine offers dealers new warranty policy

OAK PARK, Ill. – The Marine Retailers Association of America has expressed its support of Bennington Marine’s new warranty reimbursement policy for dealers, it reported in a recent statement.

At the annual meeting of Bennington Marine in St. Petersburg, Steve Vogel, president, informed the dealers that they will start reimbursing dealers at their full labor rates for performing warranty work, according to MRAA. The reimbursement will not be linked to CSI scores or sales volume.

“Bennington has stepped forward to address one of the most contentious and serious flaws in the warranty programs of most boat manufacturers,” said MRAA President Phil Keeter. “Their dealers now know that they can service the needs of the consumer who has purchased one of Bennington’s boats without fear of losing their valuable shop costs,” he concluded.

“Bennington has taken a big step in furthering the initiative to Grow Boating,” MRAA’s chairman, Glenn Mazzella, commented. “Grow Boating has a major objective of making the service experience for the consumer a pain-free, quick, and pleasant one and Bennington has set the stage for it’s dealers to do just that.”

This effort by Bennington Marine also addresses in a positive manner one of the major clauses of the dealer/manufacturer agreements that MRAA and NMMA are trying to upgrade, according to MRAA.
