MBIA to promote PFDs at its shows

LIVONIA, Mich. – The Michigan Boating Industries Association is promoting the use of personal floatation devices by including the North American Safe Boating Campaign logo, “Boat Smart – Boat Safe – Wear it,” – and the statement, “Boat Smart – Wear A Life Jacket,” on all tickets for admittance to MBIA boat shows.

The PFD promotion is included on ticket stubs that are returned to the boat show attendees after entering the show, MBIA said in a release today.

“The association feels it is important to promote the voluntary use of personal floatation devices to recreational boaters in various ways,” said MBIA president Van Snider, who also manages the association’s boat shows. “With both our shows, we have the potential to reach more than 100,000 boaters and we felt this is one of our best ways to remind boaters who are attending MBIA boat shows to boat smart and wear a life jacket.”
