Versus to air Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship
SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The 2011 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship Series will air this summer on Versus, now part of the NBC Sports Group. This is the first year in a three-year contract.
“The sport complements our college football and basketball coverage and fits perfectly with the network’s continued commitment to air quality outdoor programming,” Jeff Macaluso, Director of Field Sports & New Media Programming for Versus, said in a release.
The first of eighteen airings documenting the competition and behind-the-scene stories from the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship Series begins on Sunday, July 31.
“We’re excited that our partnership with Versus continues to strengthen,” said Wade Middleton, President, CarecoTV and Tournament Director, BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship Series. “Versus has played an important role in the explosive growth of collegiate bass fishing. We’re very pleased that the television series has a home on the network for the next two years. This long-term commitment ensures that field and stream programming will be showcased now as well as in the future.”
Versus will co-sponsor the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship tournament banquet that will feature former fishing pro, television personality and Bass Fishing Hall of Fame inductee Hank Parker as the keynote speaker.
