NEWARK, Del. — Boat sales in Delaware are down, but usage and service is steady and even up, according to an article in The News Journal of Wilmington.
In the article, local dealers talk about how they’ve managed to stay in business during the sales downturn. Ted Link of Link’s Marine in Newark has quit selling new boats, but has been able to stay in business with service work.
Long Neck, Del.-based Short’s Marine has seen a trend toward the purchase of smaller boats and pontoon boats, according to owner Don Short. Other dealers noted stable sales in fishing boats and equipment.
