Discover Boating, Take Me Fishing announce partnership

WASHINGTON – The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation and Discover Boating today reported a new partnership at the American Boating Congress in Washington, D.C. The partnership will identify synergies within marketing plans for Discover Boating and RBFF’s national outreach program, Take Me Fishing, in order to grow participation in boating and fishing.

“This is a natural collaboration that will focus on finding areas where we can work together to achieve both our organizations’ objectives,” Thom Dammrich, president of Discover Boating and the National Marine Manufacturers Association, said in a statement. “We’re excited to be working closely with RBFF and Take Me Fishing to welcome more Americans to the water.”

Coordination of search, social and e-mail marketing efforts for the Take Me Fishing and Discover Boating campaigns are central to the partnership, according to the groups. Take Me Fishing will support promotion of the Welcome to the Water invitation planner on Facebook and search advertising for Discover Boating. In addition, Discover Boating’s Boat Selector will appear on TakeMeFishing.org and promotion of Discover Boating’s Get Started in Boating DVD will be featured in Take Me Fishing outreach – both aimed at increasing Discover Boating lead generation.

In turn, Discover Boating will help drive traffic to Take Me Fishing’s Places to Boat & Fish digital map. The map will be integrated into several Discover Boating digital applications, including the DiscoverBoating.com homepage, Welcome to the Water invitation planner on Facebook and new Get Off Your Dock Guide, the next generation of the Get Started in Boating DVD.

”The innovative digital outreach and tools offered by both campaigns will provide boaters and anglers the tools they need to learn, plan and equip for a day on the water,” RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson said in a statement. “The easier we make it for customers to locate and access places to boat and fish, the more participation we will have.”
