YachtCloser provides members online access to U.S. Coast Guard documented vessel data
YachtCloser, the web-based contract management system for the yacht brokerage industry, now provides its members online access to U.S. Coast Guard documented vessel data, allowing brokers to quickly verify important vessel and owner information while also ensuring that accurate information is being displayed on their contracts.
This new integration allows brokers to merge missing information on their contracts and ensures that they have the correct hull number and owner or corporate entity name in all documentation prior to closing. Coast Guard data is updated on a monthly basis and is available to current YachtCloser subscribers at no additional cost. This is another major step forward in simplifying and streamlining the contracting and closing process for YachtCloser’s yacht broker members.
“While plenty of services allow users to search Coast Guard data, ours is the first and only one allowing users also to merge that information right into their legal contracts,” said Brad Parker, president and founder of YachtCloser. “It’s just one more way we are leading the industry and at the same time making the yacht closing process easier and more efficient.”
YachtCloser members already are raving about the benefits this new value-added service provides.
“What a fantastic feature! It was so easy,” said Jackie Joslyn, office manager of Brewer Yacht Sales. “I went to the vessel’s data information page, selected the USCG Search tab and merged the owner’s information to the Coast Guard’s database in less than two minutes. It is a seamless and accurate transfer of the essential information required at closing.”
