Franklin St. Tampa, Florida 33602 DETAILS: Mercury Marine welcomes IBEX attendees to participate in boat demo rides on two of the company’s revolutionary new engines: the 4.5L 250 hp sterndrive engine and 90 hp FourStroke outboard with Command Thrust. Visit the Riverwalk South Dock during show hours to test the 4.5L sterndrive on a Bayliner 215 deck boat and the 90 hp FourStroke on a Boston Whaler 170 Dauntless boat. Purpose-built for marine use, the MerCruiser 4.5L establishes new standards for acceleration and overall performance, thanks to design innovations such as a long runner scrolled intake manifold and high displacement, which produces an outstanding power-to-weight ratio. This V-6 engine weighs 130 pounds less than a 5.0L V-8 small block, yet provides similar performance. The new 90 hp FourStroke is one of three new Mercury outboards ranging from 75-115 hp that offer the ultimate combination of power and thrust, unsurpassed fuel economy, extreme reliability and smooth, quiet operation – all in a lightweight, compact package. These engines are the new best choice for bass, deep-vee, runabout and offshore boats as well as pontoons and saltwater skiffs. |
