Malibu Boats (NASDAQ: MBUU) has announced the new 2017 Wakesetter 21 VLX. The 21 VLX comes equipped with Malibu exclusive innovations, including the Surf Gate. With an MSRP of $79,995, this model includes many standard features, plus a Malibu trailer, bimini top and a cover.
The 21 VLX seats up to 13 riders to provide an opportunity for family-friendly water sports activities. The company says its 21-foot length makes it easy to tow and easy to store.
"Less than nine months after introducing our ultra-premium M235, we are introducing the best performing 21-foot boat on the market at a price point no one else can match, when comparably equipped," said Malibu CEO Jack Springer. "We believe the 21 VLX will appeal to the first-time towboat buyer looking to experience the thrills of our sport, or a Malibu owner who's been wanting to upgrade from one of our older Sunsetter or RIDE series models, and didn't know how affordable true Malibu style, performance and luxury could be."
The 21 VLX offers the style and wake and surf technology of a standard Malibu. The 21-foot model comes equipped with the Malibu exclusive Integrated Surf Platform, including the wake-optimized hull design, Quad Hard Tank Ballast system, Power Wedge II hydrofoil and the Surf Gate with Surf Band. Also included is the all-new G3.5 tower.
All of these features come standard, along with the Malibu dual-screen digital Command Center. Using the Command Center, the driver can control its size, shape and speed for any skill level. Like all Malibu models, the 21 VLX also offers the Malibu Surf Band wrist remote that lets the rider control the wake or wave from the board.
The 21 VLX comes standard with a Monsoon 6.2-liter engine, which provides 410 foot-pounds of torque. The 21 VLX comes backed by Malibu’s 5 Year Warranty, including lifetime hull coverage.
The 21 VLX is available at authorized Malibu dealers.
