ADP reports August sales increase for boat dealers

U.S marine dealers that use ADP Lightspeed saw their sales surge 8.2 percent year-over-year for the month of August, the company reported this week.

Major unit sales led the way with a 6.3 percent increase, although it’s worth noting that just barely more than half of dealers reported an increase.

Parts sales were up 2.1 percent, with 49.6 percent of dealers reporting sales were down. Service department revenue was down 6.7 percent from August 2013, with 53.6 percent of dealers experiencing a decline.

It was the seventh-straight month of overall same-store sales growth from 2013, and the sixth-straight month of growth for unit sales.
