Albemarle brings Chris Lufkin on board

EDENTON, N.C. – Albemarle Boats has named Chris Lufkin director of sales and marketing, the boatbuilder said in a press release Wednesday.

Lufkin fills the vacant position Burch Perry formerly held. Perry was promoted to Albemarle’s vice president and general manager last month.

“Chris comes to us with a very impressive background in the boating industry,” Perry said. “In his most recent capacity as the northeastern regional sales manager for Triton Boats, he really established himself in an ultra-competitive market during a challenging economic period.”

Lufkin became familiar with the boating industry through his father, who was the president of Winner Boats during the 1960s and ‘70s. Before his four-year stint at Triton, he gained valuable insight into the consumer point of view through managing large marinas and boatyards. Lufkin also served as a sales and training consultant for Tig? Boats.

“The diversity in Chris’s experience definitely caught our eye,” Perry said. “Once we were able to sit down and talk with him, we became convinced that his enthusiasm and professionalism make him a perfect fit for Albemarle.”
