RBFF wins 2004 Friend of Recreation Award
ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation (RBFF) has been awarded the 2004 American Association for Leisure and Recreation (AALR) Friend of Recreation Award, it reported in a statement yesterday.
The award was given to the RBFF for demonstrating a meritorious performance that contributed significantly to AALR, its programs and objectives, the foundation said.
In 2002, RBFF approached AALR and the Future Fisherman Foundation with the concept and funds to establish a three-way partnership for an annual national Fishing and Boating Educational Grant program that would enable physical educators to implement and/or enhance fishing and boating programs in their classroom.
In the first grant year (2003), over $150,000 was awarded, the RBFF said.
