ABBRA to host summer symposium
WARREN, R.I. — The American Boat Builders & Repairers Association’s inaugural Summer Symposium will be held Aug. 3-4 at the OceanCliff Hotel in Newport, ABBRA reported in a release. The networking and social event is open to everyone.
“The ABBRA Summer Symposium promises to be an opportunity for boatyards, boatbuilding and repair businesses, and affiliated marine-industry partners to benefit from such purpose-driven content as panel seminars from industry leaders, attendee-led roundtable discussions on current issues, and a keynote presentation,” according to the release. “All events and meals will be hosted in the comfortably elegant OceanCliff Hotel, which has agreed to a reduced hotel rate for event participants.”
The event also includes a field trip to two area boatyards to witness regional best practices firsthand.

Also, event-attendees’ guests will be able to purchase a reduced guest-registration rate, which allows them access to all symposium meals. Finally, friends and family will be given reduced-rate tickets to tour historic Newport attractions.
