Marie appointed to boating safety council
STEVENSVILLE, Md. – JJ. Marie, president and CEO of Zodiac of North America, was recently appointed to the 2008 National Boating Safety Advisory Council by Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, the company reported in a release yesterday.
The NBSAC was established by the Federal Boat Safety Act of 1971 and meets twice a year. It consists of 21 members including state boating safety officials, members of the boating industry, representatives of national recreational boating organizations and the general public.
Marie is a well-recognized leader in the marine industry and either currently serves, or has served, on several notable boards and councils. Marie is currently on the Boards of the Coast Guard
Foundation and the Recreational Round Table and the Naval Special Forces Foundation.
“This is a very special appointment for me, as boating safety has always been a personal passion of mine and a top priority at Zodiac,” said Marie. “I’m both humbled and excited by the appointment and I look forward to working with my fellow Council members to improve safety for those who enjoy being on the water.”
