UNION, N.J. – The deadline to apply for the 2011 Interlux Waterfront Challenge grant, which is used to create sustainable waterfront environmental improvements in the applicant’s community, is Aug. 31, according to a release from the Waterfront Challenge.
Interlux will award $50,000 in grants in October to organizations in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. A total of eight applicants will be selected for a $4,500 or $20,000 grant.
A five-judge panel of marine industry leaders will choose seven regional winners to be awarded $4,500 and one grand-prize winner will receive a $20,000 grant. The grant awards will be made at the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show in October, according to the release.
To promote the Waterfront Challenge, Interlux released a commercial that will air on Ship Shape TV, a nationally aired boat improvement series, according to the release.
