HARRISBURG, Penn. — The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission has designated two summer dates as “Fish for Free Days.” The first date is May 30, Memorial Day; the second date is Sept. 5, Labor Day.
The Fish for Free Days allow anyone (resident or non-resident) to legally fish without a fishing license. It is open to all waterways. Other fishing regulations apply.
Fish for Free days have been offered in Pennsylvania since 1984, and legislation allows for up to two free fishing days annually.
The days are meant to introduce newcomers to the sport of fishing.
