Marine Concepts celebrates 35 years
CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Marine Concepts, a composites tooling and parts manufacturer, is celebrating its 35th anniversary, according to a recent release from the company.
Marine Concepts was founded in 1975 by Augusto “Kiko” Villalon. In 1994, J. Robert Long and his wife, Karen, purchased Marine Concepts.
Matt Chambers, current president of Marine Concepts/JRL Ventures, joined the company in 2006 and lead the team including Glen Naroth, Sidney Lanier, and Dan Locke in the engineering and design departments, Todd Biddison and Kevin Long, project managers, Chris Hughs, production manager, John Long, premill and facilities manager, and Mac Spencer, chief financial officer.
Marine Concepts has expanded into new markets with the addition of JRL Ventures, Inc. in 2007.
Marine Concepts/JRL Ventures has received many awards, including the 2010 SW Florida Blue Chip Community Business Award and the 2010 Manufacturers of the Year Award for Florida.
