Parker Boats has joined the worldwide network of authorized Tigé Boats dealerships. Located in Orlando, Fla., Parker Boats serves Orlando and the surrounding area. It will carry the full line of Tigé inboard watersports boats and provide authorized service and support to local Tigé owners. The Tigé family has seen healthy growth since the introduction of the 2010 Tige model lineup, according to the company. The newly introduced TigéTouch interactive operating system, a touch-screen control designed specifically for inboard watersport boats, and other 2010 product refinements have resulted in a backlog of orders for new boats, the company reported.
Yachts International magazine has appointed Jill Bobrow, formerly of ShowBoats and Boat International USA, to the position of editor-at-large. Bobrow will work closely with Cecile Gauert, editor-in-chief, along with contributors Chris Caswell, Bruce Maxwell and Gerry Stansfield to further expand Yachts International’s global coverage in the U.S, Europe and Asia, according to the magazine.
TowBoatU.S. Old Saybrook, the on-the-water towing company that serves boaters on Long Island Sound and the Connecticut River, has a new owner. Capt. Dave Hoblin, a former captain with the company for 10 years, recently purchased the business, which is located at Between the Bridges Marina in Old Saybrook, Conn.
Nautique boats recently received two ADDY awards for the 2010 Nautique Product kit awarded by the American Advertising Federation (AAF). The kit features the Nautique product line with a product DVD that includes product videos, podcasts and an e-brochure, as well as a mini printed piece with lifestyle images, specifications and product information.
