WEST FRANKFORT, Ill. – Since the new owners of Crownline Boats announced last Friday that the company was looking to hire 100 employees, more than 350 employment applications have been submitted, according to a report in the Southern Illinoisan.
Because of the huge response, the company no longer plans to hold a job fair to seek employees. Instead, applications will continue to be accepted at Man-Tra-Con Corp. offices in West Frankfort, Marion, Carbondale, Du Quoin and Mount Vernon, the Southern reports.
About 50 percent the applications so far were submitted by former Crownline employees.
New owners Tony Zielinski and David Wilson held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday to officially reopen operations at the Crownline plant.
