MarineMax ranks among Hot 100 Retailers

CLEARWATER, Fla. – STORES Magazine, the National Retail Federation’s official publication, has included MarineMax in its Hot 100 Retailers list, the dealership chain said in a press release Tuesday.

Ranked 16th in the nation, MarineMax led the Sporting Goods/Recreation section with the largest percentage of revenue growth for fiscal 2006.

“At MarineMax, our founding principal is quite simple – it’s about the people,” said Bill McGill, MarineMax chairman and CEO. “We have passionate team members who consistently deliver the boating lifestyle to customers who love boating. Despite a challenging period for the marine industry, I am extremely proud of the MarineMax team and am pleased to have their efforts recognized by the National Retail Federation.”

For Fiscal 2006, MarineMax revenues grew to $1.2 billion, a 28.1 percent increase. Earnings for the fiscal year were up 16 percent, to $39.4 million.

The Hot 100 Retailers, to be unveiled in STORES Magazine’s August issue, is sponsored by Alliance Data. This is the second year for the Hot 100, which highlights the retail companies that reported the greatest year-over-year revenue percentage growth. All public companies with more than $100 million in sales were eligible for the list, which provides a definitive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing companies.
