The IMAR Group to produce Gekko boats
FARGO, N.D. – The IMAR Group, builders of Sugar Sand boats, has integrated Gekko Sport boats into its company and will immediately begin producing, promoting and marketing Gekko’s existing line of ski boats, IMAR said in a release yesterday.
“Adding Gekko to our production facility provides great organizational efficiencies and brings exciting marketing and sales opportunities to our existing product mix,” said Tom Eide, CEO of the IMAR Group.
Sugar Sand said it expects to produce over 700 jet-powered runabouts for the 2005 model year.
“The combined ventures give Gekko Sports an enhanced infrastructure with an expanded dealer-support network, a larger customer-service staff and a dedicated production facility,” said Mark Overbye, president of Gekko Sports.
Overbye will be joining the IMAR Group as vice president of sales and marketing.
