GREEN BAY, Wis. — A former charter boat captain was sentenced to six years in federal prison for bombing competing boats in 2009.
Joseph Sloma pled guilty to planting two pipe bombs that destroyed four boats and damaged three more. Three charter boat operators were affected. He has already paid $320,000 in restitution
He will also have three years of supervised release following his six-year term.
There were no injuries in the bombings. According to a story in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Sloma told authorities that he didn’t like the captains of the two boats he bombed.
He destroyed the boat Fishstick in June 2009 and Trout Scout in September of 2009.
