MIAMI — Sea Ray’s AquaPalooza Signature Event is moving to Texas’ Lake Travis this summer, where it will be hosted by Boating Industry‘s No. 1 dealer of 2009, Sail & Ski Center of Austin, Lakeway and San Antonio, according to a release from Sea Ray. The event will take place July 31, 2010.
“We’re proud to have been chosen to host the 2010 AquaPalooza Signature Event,” Buzz Watkins, co-owner of Sail & Ski, said in the release. “It’s a great opportunity to show the world what Lake Travis has to offer.”
Lake Travis has approximately 19,000 acres of water and 250 miles of shoreline a short drive from both Austin and San Antonio. It offers 15 marinas and 11 public boat ramps, as well as numerous powerboat, houseboat and PWC rental facilities, according to Sea Ray.
The Signature Event will be held at The Reserve at Lake Travis, a new waterfront resort. For those who can’t make it to Lake Travis, Sea Ray dealerships around the world will again host more than 100 additional AquaPalooza event sites. Most of the events will take place during the last two weekends in July.
In 2009, the fourth annual AquaPalooza attracted approximately 15,000 boats and 84,000 guests to 123 events. Since its inception in 2006, the multi-location promotion has grown each year.
“It won’t be easy to top the 2009 Signature Event, which featured a concert by country superstar Alan Jackson and national coverage on CMT, but we think the Lake Travis community, Sail & Ski and Sea Ray are up to the task,” Rob Noyes, vice president of marketing for Sea Ray, said in the release. “As always, the event will be open to all boaters, not just Sea Ray owners. AquaPalooza is about sun and fun, great music, and togetherness on the water with family and friends.”
