Monterey executive to testify on interstate commerce tax

WASHINGTON – A U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee is meeting this afternoon to discuss interstate commerce and will hear testimony from a Monterey Boats executive, as well as from other sectors in the marketplace.

Mark Ducharme, vice president and CFO for Monterey Boats in Williston, Fla., will testify before the Subcommittee on Commercial and Administrative Law. The subcommittee is meeting today at 1 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on H.R. 5267, the “Business Activity Tax Simplification Act of 2008.”

Testifying from the House will be Rep. Rick Boucher (D-Va.) and Rep. Robert Goodlatte (R-Va.). Also speaking at the hearing: R. Bruce Johnson, commissioner, Utah State Tax Commission; Michael Petricone, vice president of technology policy, Consumer Electronics Association; and David C. Quam, director, Office of Federal Regulations.
