New marine plastics supplier launched

ROCKLEDGE, Fla. – Marine industry manufacturing and engineering veteran Marc Nave has opened Bluewave Plastics, Inc. in Rockledge, Fla., the company reported in a statement yesterday.

The company will supply fabricated plastic products to the OEM marine industry as well as custom cut wood and aluminum products manufactured using its new 3-axis CNC router, which has a 12’ x 5’ cutting window. Engineering assistance will be enhanced with the use of a FARO portable digitizer arm, according to the marine supplier. The digitizer will also be available to OEM builders for non-Bluewave projects that require portable digitizing such as hullshapes and other documenting purposes.

Bluewave Plastics will manufacture plastic products such as tackle lockers, center console windscreens, doors and hatches, drink holders and other plastic products used in the construction of boats. In addition, using the 3-axis router, Bluewave will provide custom cut wood products such as wood transoms, cosmetic interior parts and cabin floors, and aluminum products like dash panels and structure blocks.

The owner of the new business, Marc Nave, started his industry career in fiberglass lamination production 25 years ago, and went on to hold engineering positions with top manufactures like Wellcraft Marine and Tracker Marine. The last half of those 25 years were spent serving manufacturers as a supplier’s representative and sales manager with companies like Happle Marine, Daytona Plastics and Spartech Marine.

Nave aims to save customers money by keeping operation expenses low using higher technology and lean manufacturing practices at his Central Florida facility, the company reported.

“Bluewave Plastics will serve both the smaller builder and large manufacturing concerns equally, and provide products in any quantity at a fair price,” said Nave. “Our goal is to make certain your production line is never held up by us”
