NMBA pushes back marine lending conference

CHICAGO – The National Marine Bankers Association’s 27th Marine Lending Conference will be held November 12-14, a push-back of about two months from earlier fall scheduling of the past several years, said the National Marine Manufacturers Association in a press release Tuesday.

The later dates were an important factor in gaining access to this year’s site, the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Fla., and are past almost all fall boat shows that created conflicts for many lenders. Conference co-chairmen are Bill Otto of Key Bank and Director Emeritus Don Mattocks.

The event will have a mix of business sessions focused on lending issues and concerns, provide an overview of the boating industry and current promotional efforts, offer a venue for the traditional golf tourney and present networking opportunities with exhibitors and during planned events. The conference is the annual meeting place for those involved in the marine finance and related service industries and attracted approximately 180 participants last year.
