Sea-Dog, Mallory win 2009 NMDA Supplier of the Year awards

ORLANDO, Fla. — Sea-Dog Line and Mallory Marine were awarded the 2009 National Marine Distributors Association Supplier of the Year Awards, according to a report from NMDA.

The awards were announced at a luncheon this week during the NMDA’s annual Sales, Training, Education & Purchasing (S.T.E.P.) Conference in Orlando.

Sea-Dog Line won for the fifth year in a row in the Platinum Suppliers category. The Everett, Washington-based company supplies over 5,500 marine dock, deck and rigging hardware items; 12-volt electrical/lighting; and ventilation accessories. Runners-Up in this category were Tie Down Engineering (1st) and Kwik Tek (2nd).

Mallory Marine of Cleveland, Ohio, was the winner in the Gold Suppliers category. It was founded in 1925 and provides marine ignition, gasket, flywheels, private label filters and other component parts to the marine industry. Runners-Up in this category were BoatBuckle Brand Tie Down Systems(1st) and Uflex USA (2nd).

NMDA also handed out three Special Focus Awards. ProMariner received the award for Best Packaging, Sea-Dog Line received the award for Marketing Philosophy and Sea Dog Line also captured an award for Supply Chain Standards Efficiency.

The wholesale distributor members of NMDA have voted annually since 1972 to recognize their top suppliers for overall excellence in supply chain management, marketing, packaging & shipping and customer service.
