Discover Boating’s “Good Run” made into e-card

CHICAGO – General Motors is sponsoring Discover Boating’s “Good Run” short film as a Father’s Day e-card on, Grow Boating said in a press release Tuesday.

The e-card went live on on Sunday and will be available to view and send for four weeks. Several partner sites will also offer the Good Run e-card as an option during the same time period, including:,, Yahoo Greetings, AOL Greetings and MSN Greetings.

“Good Run” was the centerpiece of Discover Boating’s 2007 viral marketing campaign. The film took home three w3 Awards in 2007, which recognize the creative excellence of marketing professionals behind award-winning websites, marketing programs and video work created for the Internet.

General Motors offered to underwrite costs associated with transforming the film into a Father’s Day e-card for the 2008 holiday. In 2007, the e-card received more than 150,000 views.

“Adding Good Run to as a Father’s Day e-card magnifies the impact boating has on peoples lives,” says Al Alvarez, General Motors' marine marketing manager.
