BMF to continue helping members target the U.S. market
LONDON – The British Marine Federation (BMF) will offer its second U.S. marine market-mentoring program to provide United Kingdom companies with special training to help sell products and services in the American market, BMF said in a statement yesterday.
Training will be provided by U.S.-based consulting firm Home Port Marine Marketing during the April 5-6 program, which was created via a partnership between BMF and UK Trade and Investment.
Program activities will include training workshops, preparation of sales and marketing plans tailored to the U.S. market, ongoing, individual consultation by Home Port and opportunities to participate in major U.S. trade shows such as MAATS (Marine Aftermarket Accessories Trade Show) and IBEX (International Boatbuilders’ Exposition).
“Companies participating in the U.S. mentoring program have made great progress,” said Toby Allies, BMF’s director of export services. “For example, at MAATS last July, EchoPilot, Aquapac and MarineTrack all found viable opportunities to supply the U.S. market that might never have been discovered without the specialized training our program provides.”
