ABYC to launch redesigned Web site
EDGEWATER, M.D. — The American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) is launching its newly redesigned and user-friendly Web site, www.abycinc.org, the organization reported today.
All previously available information has been migrated into the enhanced design and combined with the updated content to create a new navigational system that includes increased features, which overall will improve its utility and ease of use, according to the organization.
Highlights of the redesigned ABYC site include: online registration for educational seminars and workshops; a secure Online Mariners Ships store where visitors can buy and download copies of the individual ABYC standards, ISO documents, technical publications and eventually ABYC attire; a searchable member roster; the latest trade communication from ABYC on the news and events page; a members only site that will allow members to pay dues online, view complete editions of ABYC’s member newsletter ABYC News; automated voting and commenting on drafts and standards for committee members; and streamlined downloads for Project Technical Committee documents.
“We are all very excited about the complete makeover of the ABYC web site. We think members, the industry and the boating public will find added value and versatility in the resources it provides. In the not-too distant future we look forward to offering interactive online professional education, training, chatrooms and other creative initiatives to continually improve the sites’ utility for marine professionals and the boating public,” said Skip Burdon, president and CEO of ABYC.
