Barletta announces new R&D facility

Barletta Pontoon Boats, located in Bristol, Ind., announced another investment into its future with the addition of a dedicated space for product research and development.

Recently, Barletta announced the addition of Josiah Druckenmiller, formerly of Bennington Marine, as their new director of design & development.

With current facilities being fully consumed by production, the company says the new space will allow for the continuation of energized focus on innovation and the future of Barletta Pontoon Boats. Barletta has also begun to move forward on plans for expansion at their 37-acre campus just north of Bristol, Ind.

“The team and I have been considering this for quite some time,“ said Bill Fenech, President and Co-Owner of Barletta Pontoon Boats. “As our production volume has steadily risen since the introduction of our first boat in January of 2018, the need for dedicated space was quickly turning into a reality. And with the successful launch of our premium entry-level lineup, the C-Class, we just couldn’t wait any longer.”

The L-Class, E-Class, Slide-Toon, and now the C-Class, are all currently built at their production facility located in Bristol, Ind. The company said simplicity has been the approach with Barletta’s model and option offerings; the result has been welcomed with open arms by both dealers and retail customers, leading to the consideration of expansion.

“We’ve been working diligently on a sensible expansion plan that will help us improve our efficiencies as well as contribute to the quality of the pontoon boats we build,” continued Fenech. “We’re not going to build just to build. Any type of expansion plan will only be considered if we know that it will support and benefit our dealers, our customers, and our internal teams.”
