WBIP, Kohler settle patent infringement case

WBIP LLC, an affiliate of Westerbeke Corporation, has settled its patent infringement litigation with Kohler.

WBIP had alleged that Kohler infringed on the patents for Westerbeke’s development of Low CO technology in its gasoline marine generators. Earlier this month, the case was “settled to the mutual satisfaction of the parties on confidential grounds,” Westerbeke said in a statement.

WBIP won a jury trial in 2013. In July, after a series of appeals, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirmed the damages awarded to WBIP.
