Industry mourns former V & V Distributing owner Bob Vititow
Former owner of V&V Distributing Bob Vititow, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017.
Vititow was born March 4, 1933 in Hopkins County, Texas, the ninth child of Charles and Lela Vititow. After the passing of his mother a few days after his birth, he went to be raised by his uncle and aunt, Clyde and Obelia Randolph of Sulphur Bluff, Texas. He graduated from Sulphur Bluff High School. On Aug. 23, 1952, he married Vanda Middlebrooks of Sulphur Bluff.
Vititow went on to serve in the United States Army from 1953-1955. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Bob and Vanda moved to Garland, Texas. During that time, he worked for Ford Motor Company and X-Cell Battery Company.
In 1964, they moved to Fort Worth to pursue business opportunities in the recreational marine industry. From 1964-1972 Vititow and his brother were partners in Richland Hills Marine. From 1972-1984 Vititow was the principal owner of V & V Distributing Company. From 1991 until he retired in 1999, Vitotow was the principal owner of a V & V Marine Products. After retirement, he remained active and respected in the industry for many years.
