Info-Link: Powerboat sales up slightly more than 4 percent in November

Boat sales grew by slightly more than 4 percent in November, according to the latest Info-Link Bellwether report.

The Bellwether report tracks sales of powerboats across the country based on new U.S. boat registrations on a rolling 12-month basis.

Bellwether states are geographically dispersed states representing roughly half of the U.S. boat market (varies by market segment and time of year).

Boat sales decreased in November when compared to October, when sales grew by nearly 5 percent. Overall, the growth rate has been mostly declining since its peak of 11 percent in 2016.

Tow boats, outboards, and personal watercraft led the way in November. Tow boats increased by 6 percent, outboards nearly 5 percent and personal watercraft by 5 percent.

Sportfish boat sales increased by 2 percent, down from October’s sales. The sterndrive/jet segment was the only category to decline, with sales down 4 percent from the previous year.
