1. RBFF, George H.W. Bush Vamos a Pescar Education Fund announce grant recipients

RBFF and the George H.W. Bush Vamos a Pescar Education Fund have announced recipients for the second round of grant donations to organizations bringing conservation, education and fishing and boating experiences to Hispanic families.

A total of $35,000 in grants were awarded to 12 fishing and boating programs in six states through the George H.W. Bush Vamos A Pescar Education Fund. The six state agencies will fully-match the grant funds provided by the Education Fund, effectively bringing the total amount of funding to $70,000 for the 2017 round of grantees.

2. MasterCraft exec on leave following fatal crash

MasterCraft Boat Co. Chief Information Officer David A. Kirkland has been placed on administrative leave by the company following a January automobile accident, the company said in an SEC filing. The incident resulted in three fatalities and Mr. Kirkland is the subject of related criminal charges, the company said in the filing.

3. NMMA urges members to apply for marine sanctuary advisory councils

Six national marine sanctuaries and Northwestern Hawaiian Islands Coral Reef Ecosystem Reserve are seeking applicants for vacant seats on their advisory councils, and NMMA is encouraging its members to apply for the positions.

4. New England Boat Show returns this weekend

The New England Boat Show is expected to draw 50,000 visitors to see 475 exhibitors when it returns to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center this weekend. The show runs February 11-19 and will feature more than 600 boats on display.

5. Ineffective sales leaders can cause lasting damage

Success in a sales force requires having strong talent up and down the organization, writes the Harvard Business Review. A weak salesperson will weaken a sales territory, a bad sales manager will damage their team and dampen results in their region, and a poor sales leader will eventually ruin the entire sales force.
