New COO joins Hall Spars

BRISTOL, R.I. — Hall Spars has hired Tom Derecktor as its new chief operating officer for its U.S. operations. In this newly created position, Derecktor will be responsible for overall operations of the factory based in Bristol, R.I. Hall has additional locations in New Zealand, Italy and The Netherlands.

“Tom is very enthusiastic and energetic, and comes to Hall with a full set of tools,” says Eric Hall, president of Hall Spars.

Derecktor previously served as president of the family-owned Derecktor Shipyard in Bridgeport, Conn., which delivered the 2011 World Superyacht Award-nominated motoryacht Cakewalk. Derecktor was the founder/inventor behind the TracRac cargo management system for pick-up trucks, for which he holds seven patents. He is also on the board of directors of BluSource Energy (wind energy) and holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering with composite design specialization from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
