IMI names 8 new Certified Marina Managers
WARREN, R.I. —The International Marina Institute, the training subsidiary of the Association of Marina Industries (AMI), named eight marina professionals “Certified Marina Managers” at the AMI-produced 2011 Marina Conference in Ft Lauderdale, Fla.
IMI’s newest Certified Marina Managers include David Marsicano of City of Madeira Beach Municipal Marina (Madeira Beach, Fla.); Billie Adkins of Boca Chica Marina (Key West, Fla.); Ed Snyder of Abbey Marina/Dockominium (Fontana, Wis.); Jason Ryan of Signal Mountain & Leeks Marina (Moran, Wyo.); Richard Chapman of Port of Sunnyside Club, Inc. (Stillwater, Minn.); Bruce Grout of New Port Cove Marine Center (Riviera Beach, Fla.); Denise Kiely of Carters Lake & Marine Center (Chatsworth, Ga.); and Steve Linton of Pikes Bay Marina (Bayfield, Wis.).
According to IMI, there are currently 264 Certified Marina Managers worldwide. In addition to demonstrating five years’ marina-management experience, candidates must complete Intermediate and Advanced Marina Management courses available through IMI.
The next Intermediate Marina Management course is scheduled for Nov. 6–11, 2011, in Tampa, Fla., while the next Advanced Marina Management course is scheduled for March 20–25, in Charleston, S.C.
