Former MRAA director passes away
BOCA GRANDE, Fla. — Tandy Counce, owner of Counce Marine in Memphis, Tenn., passed away on Jan. 2, according to a recent release from Marine Retailers Association of America.
Counce had owned and operated Counce Marine since 1962. He served several terms on the Board of Directors of MRAA, was the first president of the Memphis Boat Show, a member of the Tennessee Marine Dealers Association, a member of the Boat Dealers Alliance, and served on a number of advisory boards and councils for various boat and engine manufacturers.
“Tandy will always be remembered for his open and direct observations on the boating industry, especially where it concerned dealers” said Phil Keeter, MRAA President. “He was a true southern gentleman and a real asset to recreational boating and will definitely be missed.”
Counce’s passions were boating, spending weekends and vacations on area lakes, and international traveling.
