Dammrich elected chairman of Sport Fishing and Boating Partnership Council

WASHINGTON, D.C. – At a spring meeting held at the Department of the Interior in Washington, DC, National Marine Manufacturers Association President Thom Dammrich was elected chairman of the Sport Fishing and Boating Partnership Council (SFBPC), the NMMA reported in a recent statement.

Created in 1993, the Sport Fishing and Boating Partnership Council is a panel that serves to advise the Interior Secretary on nationally significant recreational fishing, boating and aquatic resource conservation issues.

Having previously served a two-year term, Dammrich will now serve another two-year term as chairman of the SFBPC, which is comprised of state resource agency directors and a representative of tribal resource agencies, representatives of fishing and boating industries and associations and experts in public outreach, resource conservation and recreation, reported NMMA. Douglass Boyd of the Coastal Conservation Association will serve as vice chair.

“I am honored to chair the SFBPC,” said Dammrich. “The Council brings together some of the best representatives from all sectors of our community to protect our aquatic resources and enhance boating and fishing opportunities nationwide.”
