Marketing association elects new officers, Board of Directors

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Marine Marketers of America (MMA) announced election results for new officers and board of directors during the association’s annual general members meeting, held during the Miami International Boat Show.

Officers include 2010-2012 second-term president Wanda Kenton Smith, Kenton Smith Marketing; vice presidents Michael Sciulla, Credibility & Company; and Eric Macklin, Dufour Yachts; and secretary, Cindy Pechous, National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA).

Returning board members completing terms through 2010 include Sally Helme, The Sailing Company/Bonnier Marine Group; Van Perry, TUI Marine/The Moorings; Jim Rhodes, Rhodes Communications, Inc.; Bill Lindsey, Starbrite; John Wisse, Ohio Dept. of Natural Resources; Greg Proteau, Boating Writers International; Bill AuCoin, AuCoin & Associates, Inc.; John Kerr, Kerwill Publications, Ltd.; and Joe Lewis, Mt. Dora Boating Center & Marina.

New board members elected to serve a three-year term through 2013 include Glen Justice, Mad Mariner; Bentley Collins, Sabre Yachts and Back Cove Yachts; Mark Kellum, Regal Marine Industries, Inc.; and David Hensel, Grand Banks Yachts.

In addition, key committee leaders were also announced including Michael Sciulla, 2010 awards chairman; Bill Lindsey, newsletter editor; Jim Rhodes, publicity; and Greg Proteau and Glen Justice, Web site committee co-chairs.

“We are continuing to build for our association’s future with a strong leadership team in place,” said Wanda Kenton Smith, MMA founder. “Our board represents the broad spectrum of marine industry marketers, which provides MMA with the depth, experience and wide-ranging perspective necessary to develop relevant programs to benefit our members.”
