HANOVER, Md. — Vetus, the Dutch manufacturer and worldwide sales organization of marine diesel engines and other technical boat equipment, has promoted Jay Stockmann to CEO of both Vetus America and Maxwell America, according to a statement from Vetus Group Managing Director Marcel Borsboom.
Stockmann has been serving as executive vice president of Vetus and Maxwell America since June 2009 and will be replacing John Mardall as CEO of Vetus and Maxwell America. Mardall will be taking on an advisory role with the company to support the growth of Vetus’ global business model. Formerly, Stockmann was executive VP of U.S. sales and marketing for Lewmar.
Borsboom said the management has complete confidence that the appointment of Jay Stockmann as CEO will successfully contribute to the future growth and good fortune of the Vetus and Maxwell enterprises in the United States.
With the addition of Stockmann, the company will focus its attention on building both brands in the U.S. and brand awareness in the consumer marine marketplace while maintaining and strengthening its relationships with OEMs. Under Stockmann, both Vetus America and Maxwell America are in a strong position for future growth as the boating industry continues to recover in the current U.S. economy, the company stated.
