Boating Industry Intelligence You Can Profit From
OLD SAYBROOK, Conn. — Vicem Yachts USA, the U.S. sales and service operation for Turkish builder Vicem Yachts, has signed Todd W. Schenk as a broker representative in Connecticut, according to a release from the company.
Connecticut-native Schenk has nearly 25 years of experience in the marine retail industry, Vicem said. He holds degrees in marina management and marine technology from Florida Institute of Technology in Jensen Beach, Fla., from which he also obtained his captain’s license.
In 2008, Schenk opened and managed an independent sales office in Old Saybrook, Conn., representing new and brokerage motor yachts from 50-150 feet. His most recent business alliance with Island Cove Marina owner Jon Manafort provided him the opportunity to join forces with Vicem Yachts and represent the brand in the state. Schenk will be operating from the Island Cove Marina in Old Saybrook.
Schenk will concentrate on the sale of new Vicems as well as used models through Vicem’s brokerage division. He will also attend all major boat shows in the Northeast and Florida, beginning with the 2010 Yacht & Brokerage Show, Feb. 11-15 in Miami Beach.
