Navico promotes Louis Chemi to Chief Operating Officer

TULSA, Okla. – Marine electronics manufacturer Navico has promoted Louis Chemi from vice president of sales and marketing of the Americas to COO for the Americas, the company reported in a statement earlier this week.

In Chemi’s newly expanded role, he will be responsible for all sales, marketing and operations activities for the B&G, Eagle, Lowrance, Northstar and Simrad brands throughout North, Central and South America, the company stated.

Chemi was hired by Navico in 2007 to lead its product management organization and was appointed executive vice president of sales and marketing for the Americas in September 2008. According to Navico, Chemi brings a record of success in areas ranging from product development to marketing and sales within the industry. Navico believes that Chemi’s past success coupled with his passion for customer service, make him the ideal person to adopt the COO role.

“I am proud to have the opportunity to take on Navico’s operational responsibilities,” said Chemi. “We need to prove our dedication to customer service and expert product knowledge. I look forward to helping Navico Americas realign and maximize operations with our channel partners while continuing to revamp our brand support teams.”

Chemi holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Old Dominion University and a Master of Science in Applied Marine Physics from the University of Miami. He carries a 100-ton US Coast Guard Master’s license, and is an avid fisherman and boater, Navico reported. Prior to joining Navico in 2007, Chemi spent seven years as global product manager with Raymarine.
