Fasco Fastener, Ancor founder dies

SONOMA, Calif. — Earl Miller, founder of marine products companies Ancor and Fasco Fastener, died Feb. 14. He was 83.

Miller was born in Two Harbors, Minn., on Oct. 8, 1925, to Ethel and Ernest Miller. After graduating from the University of Minnesota in 1951, he and his wife, Mickey, brought their family to California, where Earl worked as a manufacturer’s rep.

In 1970, Miller followed his passion for the marine industry and started Anchorage Marine, the first of three marine businesses he would found. He later founded Fasco Fastener and Ancor, which his children still run today.

Miller is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, two sisters, seven children and 17 grandchildren and their spouses.
