Brunswick names new vice president

LAKE FOREST, Ill. — Brunswick Corporation announced this week that Matthew Cherry has been promoted to vice president – global human resources for marine, effective immediately. He will be based in Petit Rechain, Belgium, and will report to John Pfeifer, president – Brunswick global structure, and Russell Lockridge, vice president and chief human resources officer for Brunswick.

Cherry, 39, most recently served as human resources director for Sealine International, a Brunswick division based in Kidderminster, England. He joined Brunswick in 2004. In his new position, Cherry will be responsible for all human resource services for Brunswick’s marine operations in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), Latin America and Asia/Pacific. Additionally, Cherry will serve as a resource for the operations of Brunswick’s Life Fitness and Bowling & Billiards divisions in those regions and work with Brunswick’s corporate human resources personnel to ensure consistency in policy and practices.

“Matt will play a key role in continuing to lead and coordinate Brunswick’s global efforts outside of the United States under a unified organizational structure,” Pfeifer said in a release, “augmenting that endeavor by adhering to a standardized approach to the core Brunswick human resources practices across our global marine businesses and advancing our efforts to further grow Brunswick’s presence in marine markets outside of the United States.”
